I casually mentioned to my husband yesterday that I wanted to get started on my garden and that I needed his help moving a few things. So all of a sudden yesterday evening he got a place cleared and said his dad was on his way to till it up for me so I needed to figure out how big I wanted it.
How big? I have no clue! My mother-in-law said it can get big real fast and I didn't want anything that I couldn't handle for my first year. So I mowed a spot to mark where I wanted it to be and my father-in-law started tilling away. Kevin even brought him a couple of loads of manure so it should be nice and fertile ground!
I'm hoping the weather and HD cooperate this week, as I would like to spend a few evenings getting it all planted. I'll post some more pictures when I'm done and keep you up-to-date as to how it is going! Wish me luck!
I have a little backyard garden, and I love it. Really makes me appreciate how difficult it is to grow food. I've found the easiest veggies to grow are green beans and cucumbers, followed by tomatoes and peppers, depending on the July weather. It's a great project for little kids!
